Privet Removal on the South Saluda River

Naturaland Trust and Upstate Forever are teaming up to remove Chinese privet and Japanese honeysuckle along the South Saluda River this weekend.
If you enjoy hiking and fishing along this stretch of river, come join us and bring a rod for some angling and hiking afterwards.

Driving instructions from Greenville:
Take Highway 276 North toward Cleveland.
Pass Cleveland First Baptist Church on the left.
Bear left as Highway 276 North merges with SC-11/Geer Highway
Continue approximately 4.2 miles west toward Wildcat Wayside State Park
After passing Lawton Road on the right, property is on the south side of SC-11/Geer Highway. Park on the side of the road at the dirt turn-off at the telephone pole and red gate. There is additional parking on the side of SC-11/Geer Highway in front of Wildcat Branch Falls.

Materials
Comfortable shoes, work gloves and water always encouraged. If you have a shovel or other tools, please bring them with you. Light refreshments will be available. Short hike (mile or so) available on property after clean up for those who want to join.
