MBTU will host North Carolina guide Leland Shockley as its speaker at the January 20th Meeting at the Mauldin Cultural Center beginning at 6:30pm.
Leland is a veteran guide at Brookings Anglers in Cashiers and is a native of Franklin, NC. Leland guides year-round on a diverse fishery ranging from tailwaters to blue line streams.
As a literal expert on bugs (he has done graduate-level work on entomology studying Southern Appalachian mayflies, stoneflies, and caddis), Leland will challenge you to expand your presentation game by teaching the vertical swing method during his upcoming presentation to our chapter. This technique is an excellent tool to present a streamer or wet fly to trout in a wide variety of water and conditions.
Leland will also update MBTU on Brookings Anglers' involvement in some incredible cold-water conservation efforts in WNC.
In short: don't miss this one!
