October 18th in person chapter meeting at the Mauldin Cultural Center with Jim Bannister:

Monday October 18th at 6:30 PM we will have our chapter meeting at the Mauldin Cultural Center. Our guest will be Jim Bannister and he will be discussing the North Saluda River Cold Water Releases and Trout Habitat Restoration. The North Saluda is very close to home and I am sure many of you have fished there.

Mr. Bannister is a Greenville Native and has served as a Greenville Water Commissioner for the last 8 ½ years.  He has spearheaded many important conservation projects during his time as a Water Commissioner.  The following is a list of those projects Jim initiated and or implemented:

• The 100 year water modeling plan and growth projection.

• Greenville Water Mission Statement: Quality Water/Sustainable Future.

• Watershed Fire Protection and Proscribed Forest Management Burn Program.

• Heritage and Archeological Sites Preservation within the Watershed.

• North Saluda Restoration Project.

• Downstream Coldwater Releases and Flood Control, N Saluda and S Saluda Rivers.

• Brook Trout Study in Watersheds.
