With 10 years of fly fishing and tying experience, Mike has taken what began as a therapeutic recreation and turned it into a passion that he shares with fellow veterans in Upstate South Carolina. Mike served as an Airborne Infantryman in Afghanistan. When he returned home he’d fish for salmon near his duty station in Anchorage, AK. He also spent 4 years in the Army’s Presidential Color Guard, The Continental Color Guard, in Arlington, VA. Mike dedicates a portion of every guided trip to enhance the experience for veterans he takes fly fishing through Upstate Warrior Solution.

He recently graduated Sweetwater Guide School in Ft. Smith, Montana on the Bighorn River, and makes trips to his home state of Michigan to fish Lake Michigan steelhead and brown trout in Western Michigan. Mike can be found most weekends guiding veterans and friends in Western North Carolina and Georgia.
